Protocols for Assessing amphibian fatalities on roads and monitoring the effectiveness of mitigating measures

The Protocols for Assessing amphibian fatalities on roads and monitoring the effectiveness of mitigating measures discuss the methodological and analytical procedures for both evaluating amphibian fatalities on roads in operation and for monitoring mitigation measures. Amphibians are the most neglected group of vertebrates in licensing and environmental regularization of roads in Brazil. The protocols aim to encourage the production of technical recommendations that allow environmental agencies to develop or complement their regulations to guide the assessment of amphibian fatalities on Brazilian roads in operation and monitoring the effectiveness of mitigation measures. The document was prepared through transdisciplinary discussions between academics, practitioners and environmental managers from state environmental agencies in Brazil.
